BACK TO CAMP

I had said I would make this a site to show everyone what
camp was like and to keep everyone up to date on the Ganoes,
so here is a clip of one of the activities that the little
and big boys love... my father in law always had a tire
swing in New York when my girls were little, they have
great memories of it, riding with all their cousins, we
wanted to pass on that tradition, and now their boys
will have that same memory of a tire swing at Papas
with all their cousins. We have fit LOTS of kids on this
swing at the same time.. Everyone loves it.

Fun in the Fall

It was a fun weekend with Cade here. Papa had left a
big pile of leaves for him to play in. He loved to
swing and just wanted to be outside. It started to rain
shortly after we took these pictures and he didn't want
to go in.

Cade and his mom take a flight. He loved it....

You can see by the look on his face how much
he loved playing at camp geedapapa, and papa had
the same look on his face the whole time he was here.

This is why I live in the East

It's not an illusion, this is the way it goes, the water was
so clear, it was so beautiful, the picture doesn't do the
red justice.

Nothing like country roads

The only thing better than a beautiful fall
day in New England is having seven boys
here to enjoy it. I'll have to settle for
half of the equation.

STAGES OF CLEAN UP

Looking up into the ceiling at one of several spots, the board exposed is the
living room, it had gone through all the flooring, again
a blessing it didn't break through to the carpet.

This is outside the basement door, this
doorway was as black as it is in the
picture, but with smoke, so that I couldn't
see Jeff when he was inside keeping water on it.

Some of our helpers, Jim Pasternak, Rob Puida.
They helped start the painting process.

Looks different white.

Ben Jacobs spent a day painting, what a day to spend
a beautiful Saturday... thanks to all the great helpers.
Seems so much better now, we are so grateful.

THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!

thats what Jeff yelled at 11:35 am Sunday morning. The rest of the day is a blur of smoke, fear, firemen, firetrucks, neighbors, friends, and craziness all mixed together. As the dust(smoke)settled so did a sense of gratitude. We are very grateful to be here and to have a home still standing. Another 5 minutes and that may not have been the case. We were very blessed and the angels that Elder Holland was talking about were truly with us on Sunday. A big thank you goes out to all those who have helped and continue to help, love, labor, cooking, washing, talking, typing, money, gift certificates, all have been so generous. We are truly thankful. We are so blessed. There is still much to be done, in the house downstairs and upstairs, but we lost nothing of value, we are very lucky. stay safe .....
(Pictures: ceiling cooked through, electrical fried, jeff scraping and jeff and jimmy taking off the ashes.....they were terrific.)

SEVEN IS A GREAT NUMBER

Seven boys, who could ask for a better
blessing. Left to right: Brayden (Tiffs)
Cade (Hillarys) Jaxon & Noah (Lizas)
Clayton, Drake, and Levi (Tiffs).
They were all wearing their camp shirts with the camp logo on the back.
We try every year to have all of them together at least once. With Tiffany and Joseph moving back to CA that may become more difficult, but we will do our best... I never thought I could love so many boys, they far out number the girls and I now. I think its Jeffs payback for 4 women and 1 bathroom!!!!!!

VALENTINE COMES TO VISIT

This is a video of our visiting bear. One of a few that likes to visit in May, prior to camp starting. He wakes up hungry and fills up with our bird seed. After every other day of visiting other things like berries start coming out and he has no interest in the bird seed. We don't usually see him again until next spring. We nicknamed him "Valentine", he looks to have a big heart on his snout, I'll post a couple of pictures of him also. He was right outside our picture window, he also tried to join our memorial day picnic, I think he smelled the fish. We love living in Connecticut, we enjoy so much beauty.

JUST LEARNING

I am still learning how to put text in with the pictures, this will be a work in process, as Pres. Deiter Uchtdorf says: create something that didn't exist before. This blog and this camp are an attempt to follow that counsel. The boys love the tipi, the double fire pit is a great climbing rock wall, great to bounce balls down, the big swing to the right of the tipi, is made for adults also.

The sand box is in the grove of trees, the trampoline is buried in front of the swing set. In future posts we will show you all the activities being used!!!!!!! Doesn't it make you want to come and play......we love company!!

Welcome to camp geedapapa

We would like to take you on a tour and introduce you to camp geedapapa: where love means fun......it is a special camp just for our grandchildren, a place to get to know each other, to have fun together, to learn together and to love each other and the outdoors. As our grandsons, yes seven of them, live in other states, we decided to bring them home to us, to the home their mothers grew up in, for a few weeks every summer.

As you drive in the driveway you will see our

camp logo. It is a visual the boys can see up and down the road, their response every time we come up the road. Theres the sign we are almost at camp!!!! It is a sign to everyone that this place means fun......
